People ask me what I’ll do with myself now that I don’t have baseball to fill up my time. My usual answer is, “anything that I want,” which, I’ll admit, often sounds more confident than I actually mean it to. That’s because in my fear that the world will continue spinning with out me, I forget that the world will continue to spinning with out me, with lots of fun and exciting things to go and experience when I decide spin along.

Here in the little town that I live, Labor Day weekend is being celebrated in fine fashion via the annual Taste of Hudson event. Families have congregated in the normally sleepy downtown area to feast and dance and chase their kids through inflatible obstacles. They make the best of it, even though storm clouds linger overhead. I guess that”s life, though;  enjoying what’s in front of you despite the whimsy of ever changing elements outside your control.
